Nanocon - an International conference on Nanotechnology, which is an initiative taken by Bharati Vidyapeeth University’s College of Engineering - Pune, India, has been Organized every two years with the mission to constantly and steadily ensure the convergence of experts from Academia, Industries and R&D Organizations from within India and abroad to interact, deliberate, disseminate, exchange ideas, share knowledge and develop a concrete vision and mission to catapult the growth of Nanotechnology for societal benefits.
Nanocon is conducted on a truly global level in collaboration with North Carolina A&T State University Greensboro, USA, Tuskegee University, Alabama(USA), The University of Tokushima-Japan and Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology(C-MET), Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India. The first conference (NANOCON 010) entitled “Nanotechnology- Materials and Composites for Frontier Applications” and the second conference (NANOCON 012) entitled “Nanotechnology-Innovation Materials, Processes, Products and Applications” were held during October 2010 and October 2012 respectively in Pune, India. The First International Conference (Nanocon 010) was graced by the presence of Dr. Venkatessan Renugopalkrishnan, Professor, Harvard University, Boston, USA and Dr. James Ryan, Director, Joint school of Nano science and Nanotechnology (JSNN), USA as Guests of Honor. The measurable achievements of Nanocon 012 were participation of 22 international speakers from 18 countries, more than 400 participants and presentation of 165 papers by researchers. International Journal of Nano Research, IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology are in the process of publishing special issues for the selected papers (after peer review) presented in the Conference.
With the same noble purpose Nanocon 014 - the 3rd International Conference on Nanotechnology is scheduled on 14-15 October, 2014, at Bharati Vidyapeeth University College of Engineering, Pune (BVUCOE), India. The theme of Conference is NANOTECHNOLOGY – Smart Materials, Composites and New Inventions.
